Feeling Incomplete?

I wonder what happened? A
missing petal caused the lily to
appear incomplete. I feel that
way sometimes, when I’m caught
off guard and respond in ways
that  are or unkind to those
around me. Then perfection
raises its ugly head and accuses:

“You’re still flawed, incomplete, imperfect!”

Disappointment grips my heart and I cry out…“How long O Lord, how long?”

Then I hear the still small voice within; “As long as it takes.” And my heart is encouraged.

How about you? Ever get discouraged or impatient when your reactions fail to reflect the
love of God? If so, isn’t it good to remember the promises from God’s Word.

The truth is, every follower of Jesus is a work in progress, and we need to trust Him to do
the changing while we do the trusting. The Bible encourages us to let our roots grow down
deep in the soil of God’s love and embrace this promise.

Faithful to complete it.

I am certain that God, who began the good work within
will continue His work until it is finally finished on
the day  when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6 NLT

#God Proved His Love For You

Made right with God by faith in Jesus—

Peace with God through the blood of His son,

A place to stand in undeserved privilege,

Waiting for the glory of His second return.

Easter Reflections from Romans 5

This is from Me

The Fruit of the Spirit is Self-control

This is from me.
This time planned long ago;
purposed, for good
not for harm.
Eyes opening,
second causes fading…
when you see me in everything.

 This is from me.
this place fixed long ago;
waiting hearts full
Ears opening,
and my will embracing…
when you see me in everything.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good,
To those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28).

The Bonus Years

Whitest snow dusting trees like
powdered sugar frosting the earth.
My gift to you this day.
These are the bonus years.
Trust me, let go of
your grip of lesser things.
Take my hand and
walk with meone step at a time.

You need not fear life’s changing seasons.
I’m already there, waiting for you.
Are you coming?
There are many things
I’ve yet to show you.
Many miles you’ve yet to travel,
Many roads to walk with me,
Many joys yet to know.

These are the bonus years.
The best lies just beyond the open door,
where hearts respond to Spirit’s call,
and Jesus bids us follow.
Lay your head on my shoulder,
and lean hard on me.
Rejoice. Let Go. Let God.
Take my hand, I’ll lead you home.

You make known to me the path of life;  you will fill me with joy
in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
