Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

Call Him Jesus

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign.
Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call
His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

What a wonderful time of the year as believers in Jesus remember the hope and joy of Christmas. What wonderful news that Jesus broke through the darkness of night to enter our  world…To show us what God is like. And what a miracle to believe that Jesus can still break through the darkest and hardest of hearts and cause us to be born again. We can become like little children and receive eternal life when we bow before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and receive this Blessed Gift of the Father. The gift of forgiveness of our sins, the gift of new life in Christ, the gift of heaven awaiting those who will come and believe. I invite you to grab a bible and read the entire chapter of John 3. May we have eyes to see and ears to hear the good news of the gospel.

Call Him God’s Son
Loving Savior
Incarnate Baby come down to earth

Call Him Mighty God

Birthed in holy hush of night
and Laid in a manger

Call Him Wonderful Counselor
Infinite Comforter,
Full of grace, mercy and truth

Call Him Jesus, Gift of the Father
Seeking and saving
those who are lost

May the Joy of Jesus fill your heart and home this Christmas and in the days to come.

A Song in the Night

Attachment-1.jpg.blueroseblog

I’d rather walk
in the valley with Jesus,
than on a mountain-top
without Him.
He gives a song
in the night.
knitting our hearts together
with sweet chords of love.
I’d rather walk
through valley’s long trial
with the Shepherd—
than high on a mountain
without His song.

Shepherd of love, empower me to go forth with heart
lifted up, s
inging love’s sweet song.

I call to remembrance my song in the night. Psalm 77:6
He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

How Do You Explain God’s Love

IMG_0687ocean

Could we with ink the ocean fill

And were the skies of parchment made

Were every stalk on earth a quill

And every man a scribe by trade

To write the love of God above

Would drain the ocean dry

Nor could the scroll contain the whole

Though stretched from sky to sky

O Love of God, how rich and pure

How marvelous and strong

It shall forever more endure

The saints and angels song

How Do You Explain Love

100_4525lilyred

How do you explain Love
to someone
who’s never known
nor seen it?

How do you explain Love
to thirsty
hearts bent to
receive it?

How do you explain love
to seekers
giving all
to find it?

“This is real love–not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins”—1 John 4:10 NLB

“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart”—Jeremiah 29:13 NASB

“No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him”—John 1:18 NAS

He Gives Songs in the Night

rose feb 3 100_2837.jpg
Even in the dead of Winter
When broken hearts fill with grief,
Even in darkest valley,
New songs are oft released.

Even in darkest night-time,
When eyes are bereft of light…
The One who sees and knows all
Still gives songs in the night.

The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. (Zephaniah 3: 17 RSV)

My heart goes out to my sister Cathy, who is grieving the loss of her precious daughter Carrie, who went home to heaven the day after Christmas.

Cathy, you are ever in my prayers and my heart, and never far from my mind these days.

I pray these thoughts will  be a source of encouragement to you today. May you hear new songs in the night as you rest on the eternal promises of God and live in the resurrection hope of Jesus. We will see Carrie again.

I know there are many others who also grieve the loss of loved ones right now. May God give you an abundance of comfort and may you too hear songs in the night.

Weeping may endure for the night, but Joy comes in the morning.
