Yesterday the heavens opened
and sent soaking rain upon the parched earth.
Today heaven-sent snow blankets the earth
like a mother putting her baby to sleep,
and a pause from heaven—
“Be still and know I am God.”
Tis showers of blessings sometimes sent through trials,
softening thirsty hearts to receive
living water from heaven.
And the snow a reminder—
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
