Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

A Grateful Holy Moment

“Enter into his gates with Thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalm 100:4).

Whitest snow dusting trees like powdered sugar
Frosting darkest earth
My gift to you this day
This moment

These are the bonus years
Embrace them
Extra years many never gain
Extra grace to know
to live
to touch
to love

This is still my purpose in Life
To Know Him and make Him known

He reaches out His hands
Come to me
Live in me
Love in me
Walk with me
Listen to my voice
I am here

You need not fear new seasons of life
I’m already there
Waiting for you

Are you coming?

There are many things I’ve yet to show you
Many miles you’ve yet to travel
Many roads to walk with me
Many joys yet to know

These are the bonus years
Trust me
Let go of your grip
of lesser things
Take my hand
walk with me
one step at a time

These are the bonus years
Let Go
Let God

The best lies just beyond
the open door
when hearts respond
to Spirit’s call
Let not your heart be troubled
I am here
I heard you call

The best lies just beyond the open door
Where Jesus bids us follow
Fret not, nor worry
I go before you
Take my hand
I’ll lead you home

These are the bonus years
but the best is surely
yet to come
Lay your head on my shoulder
Lean on me
I’ll bring you home

  2. I know we’re all living in the Bonus Years because God is the only one who can give life. But the older I get, the more I realize I’m truly living BONUS years! Beautifully written! Thank you, Glenda!

  5. . . . these ARE the bonus years, I am so thankful for . . . and especially God’s mercy in Jeff’s bonus years! Thank you, Glenda!

  6. Beautiful Glenda–I love the perspective of “bonus years.” Especially love this timeless truth: “This is still my purpose in Life, to Know Him and make Him known” Amen!! Even as so many things are constantly changing, it is reassuring to know there are a few things that DON’T change. So good to see a new post from you 🙂 Love and hugs to you!

    • Thank you Cindy. What a wonderful Savior is ours, indwelling and giving new perspective regardless of the season of our life. He never changes and in spite of the constant changes and unbelief around us, it is amazing to me He gives grace so that we continue to Believe in Him and His Word. Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to you Cindy. Thanks for your prayers and support.
