Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

Picture perfect

Picture Perfect?

So it appears…

Yet first impressions

are often

proved wrong.

A quick pivot reveals

I was flawed,

Far from perfect!

Some might have thrown me away,

or put me

on the auction block.

vessel of value

Not my owner…

He saw value in the chipped vessel,

reached down, picked me up,

Covered my imperfections with Love.

Placed a treasure within…

to sprinkle me out

season, preserve, and heal.

Called me the salt of the earth.

May I not disappoint my Owner.

  1. I love this! Thanks for posting it. The pictures and words are fantastic.

  2. Very humbling, Glenda, and powerful with your photos! Thanks!

  3. Quite so, humbling to know He uses imperfect vessels of clay and all for His glory. Thanks Laura for sharing.

  4. With a quick pivot we reveal our flaw – I love the beauty in our chips, when God reveals Himself to fill them flawless. This is beautiful, Glenda, thank you . . .
from one damaged vessel to another 🙂

  5. Reblogged this on A Christian Warrior and commented:
Wonderful, I hide my flaws but my owner sees them all and can still use me. Gods grace..

  6. “He reached down and picked me up”…Holy Hands, our Holy God-picking up the fleshly “chipped vesels” we are. Simply overwhelming isn’t it?
Love you friend. I loved the post. 🙂

    • Holy Hands, Holy God, picking us up, glueing us back together with Holy Love…all for His Holy purposes.
Overwhelming is right. Thanks for stopping by and adding your thoughts and encouragement.

  7. Oh Glenda, I had that pattern when we were first married! What a great memory, and YES – that Pfaltzgraff chipped more than it should have! Reminds me of that book (Barbara Johnson?), God Uses Cracked Pots. Thank goodness!

    • Mine is an old set also, but felt led to use it in that shot, chips and all.
Amen to God uses us cracked pots and all…and yes I am grateful too!
Thanks Susan for being faithful to visit my blog…always appreciated and never taken for granted!
