Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

Waiting Through Storms

All through the night our God is

Working and Weaving

Engaging to complete work began in us

Weaving tapestry of light and life

In, through, and around us

Willing to shine the Light and Love of God

Into open, seeking, repentant hearts

Stitching smooth cords of comfort

Through tangled strings of conflict

Braiding cables of hope

through twisted whirlwind and storm

Entwining anchored cords of faith

Through hands reaching out in love

I grew up in the deep south during the days Elvis Presley hit the scene. Like most teenage girls, I loved Elvis…yet I knew not to idolize him. Many of the songs He sang were songs he learned in church and sang in the choir. Songs He sang where-ever he went.

“You’ll Never Walk Alone ” was one of his most popular.

  2. Is there a prayer to pray for all the negative things in this world? Lately I feel like there is a cloud constantly floating over me and my family and I am looking for signs that things will be alright. I could get thru this better if I knew it would all be alright.

  3. Pauline,

As I prayed about your question, I was reminded of several passages of scripture I often turn to. Have you considered the prayer that never fails? This is the way Jesus taught his disciples to pray: “Thy Kingdom come, They will be done.” (Matthew 6: 10)

Psalm 91 is a great prayer for protection for those who draw near to God.

Psalm 107 gives examples of many who cried out to God in the midst of storms. When they cried out, God answered and delivered them from their troubles.

Romans 8:28 promises “all things work together for good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”

Philippians 4: 6-9 is a wonderful passage that promies The peace that passes all understanding.

Also I want to direct you to a website I often go to. http://www.meetmeinthemeadow.com by Roy Lessein. Roy often posts prayers to pray.

Father in heaven, I lift Pauline to you and pray that you will give her the peace of God that passes all understanding. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
