Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

Gift of Love

There’s a quiet hush over the mountains this morning. I gaze at the star that appears just before sunrise….And I think of the One who calls Himself the Bright Morning Star. The Star whose love motivated Him to reach down through the darkness of night and time. The One who came near bringing the Light of the World. The Light that shines in the darkness pointing the way to the Christ Child, the Savior. The greatest gift every given. The gift of Love who pierces  through the darkness of night and death and promises eternal life for those who seek Him.

Over two thousand years ago, angels heralded the good news of the Christ child to lowly shepherds on a hillside nearby….And  the Star of Bethlehem led wise men from afar to a babe born in a manger.

Down through the ages, many have asked who Jesus is.

I believe Jesus is:
The Radiance of God’s Glory
Exact representation of His nature
Upholds all things by His Word and His Power
Crowned in grace, glory, honor
Author of our salvation through sufferings

Better than Prophets
Better than angels
Better than Moses
Better than the Law
Better Covenant
Better High Priest
Better Sacrifice

For those who seek Him:

*Covenant of Love
New Covenant
Better Covenant
Eternal Covenant
Covenant of forgiveness
Covenant of Grace

*Jesus gave :
His life so that we may live
Emptied himself
Took form of bond-servant
Made like us
Humbled himself
Obedient to death
Death on a cross
Died so that we may live

*Jesus was:
Raised to Life
Ascended back to the Father

Jesus has: Prepared a place in Father’s House for those who believe in Him, repent of their sins, follow Him.

Jesus is: Coming again for those who love Him.

Who do you say Jesus is? Wise men still seek Him. Will you?

Prayer: LORD Jesus, Bright Morning Day Star, we worship You. Thank you for shining Your light and love into our hearts. Shine through our lives as we share Your Love with others.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning star.  The Spirit and the Bride say “come.” And let the one who hears say, “come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost (Revelation 22:16-17 NASB).

  1. Love your early morning post Glenda. Nothing more beautiful or more meaningful than that one single STAR! We put one on our garage for ouer only decorations. I add door deco. a week before Christmas tho, when we put up our tree. I am still old fashioned and like to put a fresh cedar tree up. Love you and yours…..n
