Hope That Doesn't Disappoint

When Joy Returns

Once again I am experiencing Joy’s return, just as in times past.  Times when loneliness gave way to the joy of solitude.

Times when quiet rest brought an end to the restlessness of my soul.  Times when sweet peace swept over me like a gentle breeze from heaven.

I am at the Jersey shore.  I awake early in the morning, dress and  grab my bible, and head for the shoreline.

Sitting on a large boulder close to the shore, I am ecstatic with joy.  The wild rushing waves of water coming towards me, crashing against the rock I am sitting on.

The “ROCK”  I am resting upon. The Living Water Jesus promised, coming towards me with a joy I have never experienced before. I write in my journal:

Joy in the Morning,
how I welcome Your Presence.
Jesus Sweet Rose of Sharon,
Joy of My Life!

Joy of my Noon times,Your Presence always welcomed,
g
iving me strength from above.
Jesus, You are My Joy!

Joy in the Evening.Your sweet Presence lingers still,
as I wait before You in silence;I hear You whisper,
“Peace be still”.

Joy in the Night Time, sweet communion with my LORD.
Darkness and Light are alike to You.
Jesus, Joy of my Nights!

Joy of My Beloved, Your Love is endless.
It fills the earth just as the waters cover the sea.

It just keeps coming, coming towards me,
This Joy infusing with new life boundless and free!
(Spring 1994)

On the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying. “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.  He who believes in me, from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7: 37.38).

Father in heaven, I pray for those who are waiting for Your joy to return.

By faith through grace alone,
Glenda
